I
was born and raised in Michigan. I came to visit sunny California one
February day and after 20+ years, I am still here. I received my
Bachelor’s Degree from CSU Sonoma in Business Administration. I have
a Multiple Subject, K – 12 teaching credential and a Special Education
teaching credential, which I received from CSUS. This is my second
year teaching Special Education students at Arcohe. I am married,
have 2 sons who previously attended Arcohe and now attend Galt High
School. I am a local resident and love working here in my hometown
and having a five-minute commute. I hope to be here for many more
years to come. |

I have been teaching at Arcohe School since 2000 where I have taught 3rd, 5th, 8th and special education.
I recieved my degree at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and my teaching credential at National University in Sacramento. I am a proud Hearld resident
where I live with my husband and daughter. My family and I have lived in this great little town for 21 years now and I love teaching in a small
community where you can really get to know your students and their families! Currently I am teaching the 3rd grade and am doing a job-share with Mrs. Frizzell.

This is my Thirteenth year teaching
at Arcohe. I have taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grades as well as Title I.
I received my education at Sacramento State University. I was
born and raised in the mountain community of Bishop, CA and have lived
all over the state. I have been a member of the Herald community
for over 20 years. My family consists of my husband and two sons
(both of whom attended Arcohe from K-8th grade!). We now live on
a small ranch locally where we enjoy our horses, cattle and the
country life. |

This is my 6th year at Arcohe, my 13th
in the teaching profession. I have a bachelors degrees in French,
History, and English; as well as a masters in Education. I
recently earned the CLAD credential from CSUS.
Although I have taught a variety of
grade levels, I find great joy in teaching children to read. I
have lived in 6 states and 2 foreign countries. This rather
nomadic life style (and the fact that my two grown children live
in distant states) has spawned a real love of travel.

This is my 6th year teaching at Arcohe school. All of my experience is in
the 6th grade. This will also be my 3rd year acting as the advisor for the
Arcohe Student Council. Every year brings new challenges and excitement at
Arcohe, but one thing never changes and that is the wonderful support given
by the community of Herald/Wilton/Galt that makes teaching at Arcohe GREAT!

I am a special education teacher
instructing students in grades 4,5,and 6. I am also a new mother of a
beautiful daughter. Being a new mother, I have gained a new
perspective on teaching. I know that it is important to treat all
students as I would want my daughter treated at school. Teaching is a
very rewarding career. I also enjoy singing, dancing, and entertaining
friends. |

I graduated from Sacramento State
University with my Masters in Speech/Language Pathology. I then
worked in the Elk Grove District for 16 years. My first 11 years
was spent teaching in a special day classroom for children with severe
disorders of language. I then became the itinerant speech and
language specialist for 5 years. The opportunity arose for me to
become the speech and language specialist at Arcohe. This was
appealing because I live in this community and I have had my 3
children attending Arcohe for the past 10 years. I am excited to be
here, and enjoy working with our special education population.

Teaching was not my first
career, I worked as a chef for some time and changed directions in
1998. I received my special education credential and Masters of
Education with honors from the University of the Pacific. My family
has grown since I started working at Arcohe in 2000. My husband, son
Cyrus, Steve the dog, and Posha and Persephone our Siamese cats keep
me very busy in Elk Grove. I am interested in drawing, reading,
dancing and yoga. I look forward to having a magical school year!
